Brahmagiri is sacred place @ Trimbakeshwar ; which is also famous for one of the Jyotirlinga.
It is said that Lord Shiva struck the "Jataa" on this hill which created the source of river Godavari.
How to reach
You need to reach Trimbakeshwar. Nasik to Trimbakeshwar distance is 26 KM.
You can reach by direct buses to Trimbakeshwar from Pune/Mumbai.
Route to Brahmagiri is well trodden. Proper route has been developed from the beginning.
Rock cut staircases till top has been made with three entrances. During monsoon, it is utterly scenic place. Must watch!!!

There are two temples on the top. One is Godamata temple which is source of river Godavari and another is temple of "Fana" where Lord Shiva struck his Jata on the rock.
